Arranging Promotional Products
♫ Tuesday, September 28th, 2010Promotional products are almost subliminal in the way they work. If asked what business gifts they actually possessed most people would mention a promotional pen or two and perhaps a mug. But it is possible that they are surrounded with them, noticing them only when really looking for them.
Ask them to make notes of the promotional products they have advertising in the area of their work, writing with the promotional pen on the promotional A4 desk pad. Ask them to look around, on the walls, on the shelves and in their pockets and bags. And herein lies the strength of promotional products. They are everywhere, sliding unnoticed into the eye line.
With all that choice comes a dilemma: how to choose the most appropriate promotional product for your ad campaign. Most will consider their budget as a major restriction, select for quantity. This obviously has a lot going for it, especially in the current financial situation, but it limits opportunities. Corporate gifts are very effective when personalised.
It is not a simple case of either or. You do not have restrict your options to business gifts such as promotion pens and ignore the more desirable personalised objects. If the boss has a rather fetching laptop bag with matching leather conference folder, both with your logo and corporate message, then those struggling up the ladder will be proud to display the same logo on their promotional products, such as the calculator they removed from their business pocket.
If you consider more than just how much you can get for how little then the range of promotional products will allow you to target specific markets. If you want to bring you logo to the attention of someone working at a desk then corporate gifts such as the sticky note might be your choice. It is there as a reminder and each time the person writes in it or refers to it then he sees your message.
But if you wanted to display your logo to everyone in the office then you might decide on a calendar on the wall. One promotional product that is always good value, the corporate mug, is used a number of times each day, hugged, played with and is on display at meetings and when dealing with customers.
Initial cost per unit is not the only thing to consider when deciding on which promotional product to go for. What you should be thinking of is cost per view. Every time your logo is seen or the business gift referred you get a return on your investment.
So check the range of corporate gifts available. When working out which to go for, consider how many times your logo or message will be seen. A simple promotional product, such as a rather stylish business card holder, will come into the view of the recipient whenever he wants to distribute one of his cards. And, naturally, it will come into the eye line of the person he is giving the card to.
